Well if you have been following me for a while you know that I live on a cow/calf farm outside of Brigden, Ontario, Canada. It is a pretty busy time of year right now. I would like to introduce you to Leonard our first calf of the year. He was born a week ago and I don't normally name the boys (because we sell them) but I have named him as he is the first calf of the season. We have started calving, slow so far but it will get very busy here in the next few days and will last for about 2 months or so. We have about 100 to calve so it gets pretty crazy around here some days. So if I go silent sometimes or need to cancel sometimes, this is the reason why. My husband and I both work full time off the farm so life can get pretty busy with not much sleep or communication between us. But it is normal life on the farm. Thankfully he kids will be out of school soon and they can help even more on the farm with the day to day tasks like checking the cows. We check them every 2 hours to make sure all the momma's are okay and don't need any help or run into any issues. We also have to watch the calves to make sure they are doing okay and not getting sick.
